PIT Kits include emergency cold weather supplies, first aid kits, hats, gloves, socks, snacks, and other personal care items. We are also seeking agencies, such as food pantries and churches, who can offer a drop-in spot where homeless individuals can fill out the survey, get a hot meal and other resources, including a PIT Kit. Tri-County Community Action Program will ensure that participating groups and individuals receive training and support on how to fill out the PIT forms. Any community member, agency, municipality, civic or church group can participate in the PIT Count to help make sure that homeless individuals in these counties are accurately counted. ![]() Tri-County Community Action Program, as the lead agency in Coos, Carroll and Grafton Counties, is working in collaboration with the state Bureau of Housing Supports to secure volunteers to participate in the count and help homeless individuals complete a short and simple anonymous survey. The annual PIT count provides HUD, as well as state service providers, with data on unsheltered populations to prioritize funding and other resources for the state’s most vulnerable areas. This year’s HUD PIT Count will take place from 5 a.m. The PIT count is a daylong community-based event that provides a nationwide count of the unsheltered homeless. Tri-County Community Action Program’s Housing Stability Department is seeking volunteers across Grafton, Carroll and Coos counties to participate in the annual HUD Point-In-Time (PIT) Count of individuals who are unsheltered.
